My Name is Yuhan Xue. I am a classical-trained pianist who loves to play anything on the piano, anywhere.

Based in Chicago, the west loop.

I earned my Master of Music in Piano Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Began playing piano and composing music at the age of five.

Performed internationally, appeared as a soloist with symphony orchestras and collaborative pianist in chamber music groups.

“One of my greatest loves is people. In music, that means collaborating with composers, music producers, instrumentalists, singers, and my wonderful students. The best feeling is when my students tell me that I make them love piano and music more than ever.”

Yuhan Xue began playing piano at the age of 5 and was admitted to the Affiliated School of the China Conservatory of Music at the age of 13. As a Municipal Scholarship recipient in Beijing, China, she completed her Diploma of Six-Year Music Vocational Education in Piano Performance and has performed in numerous recitals across Asia and Europe.

Yuhan earned her Master of Music in Piano Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in 2024, where she developed a strong practical background in applied piano pedagogy. Before that, She graduated magna cum laude from Carthage College in 2022 with a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance and a concentration in Piano Pedagogy.

An accomplished pianist, Yuhan Xue is recognized by audiences and esteemed pianists alike for her "captivating and pure performances," showcasing virtuoso technique and bold interpretations across a dynamic repertoire, from classical masterpieces to contemporary works.

Her artistry has been shaped by renowned mentors, including Corey McVicar, Dr. Wael Farouk, Dr. Deborah Masloski, Alexander Kobrin, Ekaterina Aleksyevna Murina, Wojciech Świtała, Maciej Ganski, Arbo Valdma, Qifang Li, and Bing Han.

As a dedicated music educator, Yuhan started her piano teaching career since 2018. Her students are ranging in age from 3 to 80.

“I’m very creative when it comes to finding unique and fun practice methods tailored to each student’s individual needs. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach because every student has their own strengths, focus, and musical background. I also love picking repertoire for my students, often introducing them to underdiscovered and underperformed works that spark their interest and expand their horizons.

In my teaching, nothing stands alone without a musical reason—every note, technique, dynamic markings, a single rest, or even a fingering choice serves the music. I’m not just teaching “how to press the right notes on the piano”; I’m guiding my students through a comprehensive, artistic, and inspiring journey in musicianship”.

"I love to see the progress my students make, even if it's just a small step. What I love the most is when my students tell me I made them enjoying playing piano more than ever, and inspired to practice, I know they are very happy."

"I believe in creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore their musical abilities. Music teaching is very private—every student has their own style and their own path. My job is to create a personalized conservatory experience for each student. My teaching approach combines technical proficiency with artistic expression, ensuring a well-rounded and comprehensive musical education."
